Women’s Health

Pill checks

If you are under 35 years of age, have already been prescribed the oral contraceptive pill by your doctor, and require your annual Pill Check, please make an appointment to see one of our nurses who will weigh you and check your blood pressure. She will then be able to arrange for you to be issued with your next prescriptions.

Contraceptive Injections

Contraceptive Injections, once prescribed by the doctor can be given by the nurses. The most common preparation, Depo-provera, must be given every 12 weeks to ensure that it is effective.

Cervical Smears

If you have been notified by letter from the National Screening Programme that your next smear is due, please ring reception and ask for your smear appointment with the nurses.
